Paula: I noticed your Howell line, most born in Pennsylvania. I wondered if you would have any connection to the Howells I am looking for. The parents (names not known) were born in Pennsylvania according to an 1880 Census. One of their children was born in Ohio. Did any of your connection leave Pennsylvania and move to Ohio that might have a son named Nathan B. Howell, born 1825 in Ohio. He died Oct 1880 in Woodland Township, Fulton County, Illinois. Nathan was married 3 times, 1st wife unknown, but there were two children: Stephen & Mary. Stephen was not in Illinois at the time of father's death. 2nd wife Priscilla Jane Cramblet, b. Ohio 1835, d. Fulton County, Illinois. Then had 10 children. 3rd wife Mrs Elizabeth Branham, they were married in Illinois with 2 children: Nathan R. Howell, Jeanetta May Howell. If you might have any information that would help us trace Nathan's family we would apprecate it very much. Our great grandmother came down this line. She was Mary of the first marriage. Just an FYI... For those people who are interested in charts of your documented line, I have used Heartland Family Graphics for several years. Tim Lundin, the owner, is a family genealogist and produces truly amazing work. For my sons birth, Tim did a chart with both sides of our family going back to the 1600s. It is on quality bond paper, and the colors are beautiful. It is a piece that is truly heirloom quality. Heartland Family Graphics is located at http://www.familygraphics.com I am in no way affiliated with this customer, other than being a very satisfied, long-term customer. Are the years of birth definate? I don't have a John or William with those dates. The closest I have is Jonathan's son John (b-1758), and William (b-1784), son of Arthur Howell and Mary Mott. Will keep my eyes open for them. Sorry I can't help more. Char - - Would you know if 3 Jonathon had any brothers who had a John b 1767 and/or a William b 1771. My John and William may be brothers or cousins. Thanx, Patt Researching: Howell, Bonham, Arford, Pickard, Eskins,
County, NJ I have an old hand written draft chart obtained in an exchange of data some years ago showing William Howell, born about 1730 Sussix County, NJ, m (2) Mary Daniel or Darnell. Among eleven children is a James, seventh child with no dates but listed after a brother Levi, b 1765 NJ. The rest of the chart contains data on descendants of this Levi who did go to Gallia County Ohio where he m (3) Jennett Ewing in 1803 or 1804. This is not much on James or William, but if anyone wants a copy I will be glad to send you one. Lew (CA) Lew of CA: I also would be interested in obtaining a copy of the chart of Levi Howell. Thank you for sharing it with us. Charles in WA
There are a lot of us who's Howell's migrated to the area's you are looking for. Following is my direct line starting with as far back as I have been able to get. I have info on branches other than my own, so feel free to ask. If they are not in my direct line they maybe in one of the other branches. I am trying to find as many of my John Howell's descendents as possible. There is a quite a bit of history and some family stories on many of the family I have in my files. Lew, I actually have the same chart if it is the one from the diary or bible of Levi Jr? I am reasonably certain that my James is the son of William & Mary (Daniels/Darnell) Howell. But I never quit looking for other possibilities as I have not been able to prove that my James is the same James as yet. Thanks for your very kind offer to share the info, are you related to Lowell Howell that wrote "Daniel Howell and Related lines"? If so, how are you related, what is your line of descent? If so maybe you can assist me regarding some of my questions regarding a couple of connections if our lineage follows a similar pattern. Carrie (originally from CA, now in NC. -----Original Message----- From: lewhowell@juno.com [mailto:lewhowell@juno.com] Sent: Saturday, December 13, 2003 11:31 PM To: HOWELL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [HOWELL] More Northern Howell Family lines THIS IS FOR CARRIE AND OTHERS RE Willaim Howell, b abt 1730 in Sussix County, NJ I have an old hand written draft chart obtained in an exchange of data some years ago showing William Howell, born about 1730 Sussix County, NJ, m (2) Mary Daniel or Darnell. I am looking for the parents of a John HOWELL born in 1767. He may have had a younger brother, William. My John was married in1804 also but in Fredericksburg, VA. Then migrated to Belmont Co and Coshocton Co. Ohio. I would also like to see the chart. Thanks Patt Carnevale Researching: Howell, Bonham, Arford, Pickard, Eskins,
I'm a Levi Howell descendant, and very interested in your chart. Will you please send me a copy? My Levi was a son of Sampson, and tracing Sampson has been very confusing. Perhaps what you have will help shed some light! Thanks! Carol, Do you show in your family; a Daniel Howell born 1811 Gallia Co, OH - 1890 married to Elizabeth Abrams? Daniel's father was supposedly; James Howell born 1760/71 in Sussex Co, NJ - 5 Dec 1835 Macon Co, IL , his wife was a Sarah MNU, this part of the research is supplied by a cousin from earlier research and I am trying to verify. As your lineage seems to follow the same pattern of times and locations I am hoping you may have siblings that may give you a connection for me. Specifically do you show a William Howell as a son of Hugh? If so do you show a son James as listed above? Or a James Howell (as listed above) as a son of Sampson? I am not really sure who the father of my James Howell is and that is why the 2 options offered. Hi Colleen, No problem, happy to contribute...even though I believe you could choose a cheaper host and registrar. For instance, see http://www.lifetimewebhosting.com/plans.php $149 hosting fee LIFETIME, one time only, no annual fees. No annual fees equals no annual issue. For registration, I use https://www.godaddy.com/ Only $7.95 annually, one year at a time. $69.50 covers 10 years. 6.95 per year, if you buy 10 years up front. Equals no annual issue for ten years on registration. Also, I'm curious, why do you pay annual registration fees for howellresearch.org and howellresearch.net if you only host http://howellresearch.com? I'm still in awe of all the good work you do, so please don't construe this as any kind of criticism. Just offering up a few ideas to the group.
