I have the two census records below and would like to find a researcher who may be interested in this family. I believe this to be John W. Howell, son of Edwin W. Howell, born in Polk Co., TN in 1857, but I have nothing to confirm this with. My ggggrandfather, Robert NH Howell and his sister, Jane's, family moved to Smith Co., TX in the mid 1850's so it is possible his nephew followed later. 1880 Census Place: Tyler, Smith, Texas Source: FHL Film 1255326 National Archives Film T9-1326 Page 119A Relation Sex Marr Race Age Birthplace J. Parker later sold his interest to Flippen, and Flippen later sold out to Guy M. Bryan, Jr., son of the town's founder, William Joel Bryan. Guy Bryan had started a private bank in 1873 in Bryan. How wonderful a nice lady emailed me tonight, Loretta and found that my Sarah E. Howell had a perhaps younger sister Katie. So does anything have a family from around Sumner county with a Sarah or Katie or similar names? She could have been Katherine or something close to that. Its so nice to post on these boards and again I cant thank everyone enough for their help. Robin
OOps I forgot Mariah Howell is also listed on the census with Benetta. Sorry Robin
Looking for any information or connection on the Howells of Sumner county Tn around the 1833 time frame. My ggggrandmother was Sarah E. Howell born 1833 in Sumner county TN. I cannot for the life of me find her parents however. Several Howell families on the census at the time include , Sterling, Thomas, Lewis, John & Bennetta so some of these folks have to be related to her more than likely. We wonder if her family may have left the area, she first appears in Henry county TN where she was married to James L. Trevathan in 1848 so she had family somewhere in that same area around that time. Any information on these folks and thier children above would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Robin Holt

She would have been born around 1825 in Llanelli. Good luck and I'll keep you in mind if I come across anything back further.
