I didn't but a friend called to say that they showed old quilts, including one pieced by Cinderella Howell in Bayshore, Long Island NY about 1872. Clendenin, County Judge Marriages and Birth, The Rains County Genealogical Society, May 2002 [These are from "The Rains County Leader"] October 7, 1921 Marriage Licenses: Bill Garden and Jewell HOWELL Obituaries from The Rains County Leader, Volume 1, The Rains County Genealogical Society, March 2002 January 15, 1915, Wattsville Doings: Since we last wrote our little items the death angel visited our midst and claimed our friend and neighbor, Mr. Willis HOWELL, who has been sick for the last nine months with that dread disease, consumption. Death claimed him January 6th at 11:40p.m. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his death besides a host of relatives and friends. He was a true and loving husband and father, and loved by us all who knew him. He made peace with his Savior some eighteen months ago, and said he was ready to go where there was no more suffering but a great rest. Funeral services were held at the family home January 8th at 10:30a.m. by the Rev. J.W. Foster, and his remains were carried to the Lone Star cemetery and laid to rest at 1 o'clock p.m.
