The arrival is three years after the reported birth in Oregon, and it looks like the family came over the trail in 1843 & 1845. Thanks. -- `` Jeffery G. Scism. LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON POSEY N. HOWELL. BELIEVE HE WAS BORN IN JEMISON, CHILTON CO., AL. FATHER WAS THOMAS HOWELL. MOTHER ELIZABETH WARREN. HAD ONE SISTER VIOLA. DOB 04/30/1880. ANY AND ALL INFORMATION IS WELCOMED.
I don't know where James and Mary Howell lived, I do know however that Mary Ella Howell (the grand daughter) was in Linn County, Oregon and was Born there in 1865, I briefly knew her when I was a child, she was my great grandmother. Her Husband died when my Grandfather (Leonard Miller) was about one, and they of course had no further children. There is little about her (Mary Ella Howell) we know, but she did remarry twice more in her life. (her last one was to Herbert Tay), The first message indicated I was looking for her parents. -- `` Jeffery G. Scism. I also have similar experiences on the several surname sites I have up, it would be wonderfuller (new word) if each of those persons would drop by, see what they needed, and the ADD what they have to make it MORE comprehensive. A great project and some great work, everyone is to be congratulated. -- `` Jeffery G. Scism. Hi Family, Frankly, I'm stunned. I was just emailing a cousin who thought our home was offline. Offline? I rushed over the Web to see what was going on? Why couldn't he get in? Whew! Everything's okay. Our home is still there, in tact. It's the counter, cousins. Have you been to our front page? Have you SEEN the traffic we've been getting? Our tiny little home has had over 130,000 hits!!! Do you realized the enormity of that? Can you just imagine the traffic that's been through our home and see our data? I hope this means that many of you who have data housed there have been receiving lots of contacts.... Our home is doing so much better than I ever imagined it would. Well, maybe you're not impressed with that number, but *I* sure am! lol Colleen

I need information on the family of Erin Lane Howell, daughter of Alzie D. Lane and wife Martha Ada Lane. I understand that they (Erin and husband) may have moved to Washington, D.C. and later to Devine, Medina County, Texas. The Lane family lived in Sheffield, Alabama. Alzie & Ada both died in 1956. Alzie was a merchant in Sheffield for many years and later was connected to Lane Sport Shop in Sheffiled according to his obituary. Children were: Myrtle Mae Lane/ Mrs. John D. Cox Erin / Mrs. ???? Howell A.D. Lane, Jr. W.H. (Red) Lane Thanks for any help. SteveCooper STEVECOOPER75@COMCAST.NET
Subject: Howell/Lane in Devine, Tx. I need any information on a Thomas Howell and Erin (Lane) Howell that lived in Devine, Medina County, Texas about 1956. Both would of been born about 1909. In the obit.'s of both Mr. & Mrs. Lane in Florence, Alabama newspapers in 1956, the papers list a Mrs. Erin Howell of Devine, Texas. I am not sure that Mr. Howell was living at that time. Could have moved after this date. Thanks for any help from obits., cemetery records, city directories or any other records. SteveCooper STEVECOOPER75@COMCAST.NET

In 1900, Robert LAMBERT and Judy were living in Caney Precinct, Pike County, KY. Robert was born in Jan 1873, Judy in April 1877, John in June 1997 and Stella in June 1899. See 1900 US Census (population) Kentucky, Pike County, Caney Precinct, ED 80, sheet 8, line 43, National Archives Microfilm Publication T623, Roll 548. There was a Juda AKERS in the home of Hannah AKERS in the 1880 census in Pikeville, Pike County, KY. You can see this listing on www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp Just click on the address, and go directly to the page. This is a free site, and it appears that Juda may have been the daughter of Robert AKERS, listed as a widower in this home. I think he probably was the father of the youngest children in the home. Do not be concerned about the age difference. Many people had no idea how old they were!
