    2. My gggrandmother was Elizabeth Howell dau of Welcom and Ann (Longacre) Howell from Roane Co Tenn. She was b Mar 22, l822 in TN and died Oct 4, l857 in Calif She married Charles P McPherson on June 30, l839 in Roane Co Tenn. There was a bondsman named Asa Howell but do not know relationship. Both died in Cowlington Leflore Co. Okla. Their children were Mary E.1862, Joshua 1865, married Panola, both died in Cowlington, Jasper 1870, Bordellia 1872, Martha "Lula" 1873, married W.L.     2. Lorraine I don't have anything more on John Wesley Howell other than what I posted. A relative in the family started the tree back in 1939 and printed it in 1941, listing that John was deceased. I did find him in Benton Co. Oregon in the 1870 census, age 20 not married.

    3. Okay, I'll jump into the William mix . . . Does anyone know the parents, siblings or county of birth of my ggGrandfather, William HOWELL, b. PA, approx 1810. He was married to Priscilla MOORE in Stewart Co., TN approx. 1835 (her father David was also born in PA) and William and Priscilla had six children, the youngest of which was my gGrandfather, John HOWELL. John's older brother David HOWELL, graduated from the second-ever medical class of Vanderbilt University Medical School and later in life served in the Tennessee State Legislature. Anyone know anything further about the above William HOWELL? Thanks.

    3. Hello - I show a William Howell b 1855 in Southampton, LI, NY. His father was John H. Howell b 1811 and his mother was Nancy b 1815. There were 8 children in this family. This info is from the book "Early History of Southampton, L.I., New York With Genealogies" by George Rogers Howell 1887. This info does not show any descendants for William so I don't know if this is your William, but I thought I would share this with you as a possible place to look on this. Good luck. Hi Greg - I don't have your Richard Howell in my database, but I did find him in the book "The Early History of Southampton, L.I., New York With Genealogies" by George Rogers Howell 1887 under the heading "Howell Family of Southold" beginning on page 320.
