    3. Hello, I am Mrs. SW Mims. I am new to this list. I am looking for anyone who might have information pertaining to my greatgrandmother's family in TN. Her name was Matilda Catherine Howell. She married John Wesley Jobe in Wayne County TN(no date known). Their children included my grandfather, George Wesley Jobe born November 27, 1894. Other children were Arthur (died at about age 2?), Esta Lee m. Willie Casner, Minnie Jobe m. Cord Flippo, Julie m ? West and moved to Detroit. Edker Jobe (called Eck) married Minnie ?, Charlie Jobe married Mattie Warren. Matilda Catherine lived near Clifton, Tn in the later years of her life. A certain THOMAS HOWELL ( my grandmother's brother ) emigrated to Canada some time around 1900 from England. Aparantly he was a 'black sheep' of the family, although I haven't discovered why yet, my grandmother ( deceased ) would never talk about him. THOMAS HOWELL was one of 8 and only my grandmother survived to produce decendants. Unless........Thomas Howell had decendants in Canada. I have traced my line of HOWELL back to about 1800, Wales, England. I will be happy to send my tree to anyone interested.     3. I am searching for information on John Thomas Howell or Howells Born April 6, 1831 in Wales and died September 25, 1904 in Walsenberg, Huerfano County, Colorado. His wife was Mary T. Howell born ? April 6, 1831 ? and died June 27, 1898. Their children were Mary Jane Howell unknown date or place of birth and William Thomas Howell, born June 4, 1858 in Ebbw Vale, Monmouth Wales and died may 7, 1941 in Santa Monica, California. William Thomas Howell married Margaret Clark on August 18, 1880 in East Palestine Ohio.     2. Looking for any information on William HOWELL, born about 1750±, died about 1810 in Grayson Co., Va. He married Elizabeth HASH, date and place unknown for sure. They had the following children: William; John, born 28 Mar 1780 in what is now Grayson Co., Va., died 1 Aug 1840 in Clinton Co., Mo., married Nancy BAKER; James; George; Andrew; Polly; Jane; Ruth; Elizabeth; Mahala; and Lydia. These children are not listed in birth order. This information was extracted from a journal that a son of John's kept. The only other detail mentioned was that John's son was born on the west bank of New River, just a few miles from the North Carolina line. I have no other data on this family except for John HOWELL, who is my 3rd Gr. Grandfather and who left Grayson Co. and ended up in McMinn Co., Tn., before going on to Missouri. Any help would really be appreicated.     2. I have found my Howells on the Rootsweb with the wrong info. My Howells were not from 1828 to now, Wayne Co, NC, Baker Co, FL or Duval Co FL as listed on the rootsweb. My HOWELLs were; 1. Caleb J who was b 1860 in Albion, Calhoun, MI m Catherine Levina PYRTLEE, 2. Jay Allen who was b 1886 Plumb Creek, NB , m Anna Katherine NISSEN. MY father in law, 3. Walter Kenneth HOWELL b 1909 Albion, MI came with his parents, 2 sisters & his brother in the 19 teens to Taft, Kern CA.
