I am interested in any information I might obtain on James M. HOWE b. 1835, IL. His father was born in Maryland and his mother in TN. He married in IL. an Indian girl, this is what I've been told. He had two daughters that I know of. The daughters are Martha Ellen HOWE b. 11-08-1861 in IL., and Margaret HOWE b. in IL. I have them on a 1860 Hill co., TX. census but no mother was listed. It is speculated that their mother died and that James M. HOWE moved to Texas to be with his sister Elizabeth so she could help raise the girls. I'm not sure about this last part.
