Hi Cousins! This list has been too quiet for too long. In my never ending search for my ancestor, Albert Cyrus HOWE, I am researching the several HOWE/HOW families that lived in Rutland County, Vermont and in Washington County, New York. If any of you are researching these lines, please contact me. I have much information on the families, including probate records I retrieved this past May from the Fair Haven Probate Court. I will be retuning to Rutland, in September, to get all of their Howe probate records. I have two HOWE families that intermarried in Minnesota in the 1860's. My line is Albert Cyrus HOWE b. 1821 VT/NY. He married Julia Ann Barker of Rutland Co. VT. I have the Barker line, and will be more than glad to share it with you. Albert was said to be the son of Jacob How married to a woman from New York. Jacob is in the 1820 and 1830 census for Poultney, Rutland Co. VT. He is gone after that [at least from the census]. Albert and Julia moved from Poultney VT to Walworth Co. Wisconsin about 1857. Lived there about 10 years and then moved to Freeborn Co. Minnesota. After Julia's death from TB, Albert married widow Eliza LaMoy Hendricks, of Poultney. They moved from Minnesota through ND, MT, and finally to Wyoming, where he died in 1906. The second HOWE line is that of Oliver Cromwell Comstock HOWE, son of Ebenezer Kingsbury HOWE. This line is from Tryingham, Mass. Two of Oliver's children marry two of Albert's children, in Minnesota. Oliver was born in Rushford, Allegheny Co. NY. and married Harriet Porter in 1847.
