Hi. I'm new to this list. My ggreatgrandfather was Ransom B. HOWE , born abt 1828 in Ohio to Rheumilla ASHLEY and Joel HOWE. They were married in Darke Co. Ohio in 1824. I am trying to "prove" that Ransom was their son since Rheumilla is a proven Mayflower descendant. Any help here would be much appreciated. I am also trying to identify the parents of Joel HOWE. The Howe Genealogy Update published in 1993 incorrectly states that Joel was born in 1765 to Nehemiah Howe. Yes, Nehemiah had a son Joel born in 1765, but obviously not the same Joel who married Rheumilla Ashley in 1824 and then started having a family. Besides, the 1850 census of Howard Co., Indiana, states that Joel was born in NY about 1801. Joel and Rheumilla along with 5 of their children were killed by Indians in 1857 at the Spirit Lake Massacre in Iowa. Thanks, Bob

I'm looking for information on William G. Howe, born March 26, 1849, in Ontario, Canada. He immigrated to the US in 1868 and settled in Blair, Nebraska. He married Caroline Morgan on April 26, 1874. He raised a family there and eventually moved to California, where he died in Modesto in 1912. Any info at all would be greatly appreciated.
