Was just going over my papers here and I have a huge mistake, don't know if it were a typo or what.. but really think that it is WRONG..... I have Anna Pentecost Housh born in 1743 and died in 1868... The problem is there is no proof that this John Pentecost existed. We do have proof of George and Elias Pentecost in Dinwiddie Co. Also the son of Elias, Littleberry born 1723. Also Anthony born about 1726, residing in Prince George Co., Va. Don't know who fathered him. Those are the only factual Pentecosts existing in the U.S. at that time. The family of John Pentecost says they have always know he came from Pa. There were papers awhile back but the woman who had them died and no one knows what happened to them. Not much proof. These are my notes on my ancestor John HOUSH who died in Brown Co. OH in 1822. According to the "History Collections of Brown County [OH]" he may have moved to Ohio in 1801 [from Washington County, PA?]. He was living in Adams County, Ohio by 1806 and found in the Adams County, Ohio tax lists from 1807-1810. On 31 Dec 1806 the first Huntington Township election was held at the home of John Housh, Sr. according to "A History of Adams County, Ohio" by Evans and Stivers. He is probably the John Housh mentioned in an article concerning St. Thomas' Church [Episcopal] in what is now Washington County, PA. This John Housh was either a vestryman or trustee, "some years after the church was erected [in 1770 or 1777]". [from "The First Church in Western Pennsylvania", by Charles W. I don't have any date of death for Anna Pentecost Housh. I only know that she died after 1822 because she administered John Housh's will. I was told that she is buried in the Evans family cemetery but no date was given. Is the stone still there? Does it have legible dates? I am Linda Cassidy Lewis and I live in Indianapolis, IN. I am descended from John HOUSH, born c. 1748; died c.1822 and his wife Anna PENTECOST. Their son John Housh Jr. is my next ancestor. He was born c.1774 probably in PA and died in 1850 in Brown Co. OH. He married Elizabeth CRUSAN. Next in my line is their son William Housh, born 1804 Adams Co. OH and died 1845 Brown Co. OH. He was married to Eleanor HIETT. Charles Harrison HOUSH was their son and my ancestor. He was born in 1842 and died in 1910 both events took place in Brown Co. OH. His wife was Hannah BOWMAN. My Housh line daughters out with Bertha Blanche Housh 1867-1942. She married William Gaither HARRISON and lived in Lewis Co. KY. Linda
