We find that Bryn & McPherson Estate, or rather the land held by Bryn and McPherson, who condemned the land of Andrew House, was sold through the Chancery Court in Annapolis, MD, about 1750. We are now endeavoring to secure record of the land held by Bryn and McPherson, to ascertain what right they had to sell it. We have the names of three people around Antietam that own some of the land at present. We also have a record of land granted to ROBERT HOUSE, JOHN HOUSE, and WILLIAM HOUSE., between the years of 1747 and 1789: this information is given us by the Land Commissioner at Annapolis. We also have a letter from the Colonial Office of the English Government in London, under day of October 6, stating records of this nature were on file in the Colonial Office of the XCI Century, and at the same time giving names of two responsible firms of London, to whom, we should apply for services in investigation and furnishing us copies of the records. We have written these people and hope for reply within about forty days. We must have copy of the original grant, before we can proceed further, and before going to the expense of sending an attorney to Maryland, we will secure all the information possible from London. Immediately after we hear from London, the members of the House Organization will be notified. Signed: Mrs J A House, Secretary
