(Andrew House left in his will only oldest son John Valentine House and his heirs the property). CONVENTION OF HOUSE HEIRS----Kokoma, Ind. , April 12th 1901 Meeting called to order by R. S. HOUSE of LaBelle, MO. Mr J A DORAN of Louisville, KY, elected chairman of organization, MRS J A HOUSE of Chesterville, ILL, was elected secretary of the meeting, MRS L R ADAMS of Richmond, IND, the House Heirs National Sec, was present. Owing to the business of the organization which MRS ADAMS represnted for the National Heirs, MRS HOUSE was appointed secretary of the meeting. All heirs were notified to be present to have a voice in the business transactions of the meetings. It was moved and seconded that all present should have an equal right and voice in the meetings. Adopted, Carried. MRS L R ADAMS, National Sec., read the minutes of the Chicago Convention held May 12th, 1900. Where upon there were filed for the reports of MR L R ADAMS explaining the purpose of this called meeting; that it was to hear the report of F A HUTSON, Attny. of St Paul, Minn., which meeting was called by his own request. Further report was given by MR BEVILLE of Chicago, the Chairman of correspondence with Attny Hutson asking his full report to the organization at this convention, and his personal presence. MR BEVILLE further read correspondence between himself and Atty. HUTSON in which MR HUTSON deemed a meeting necessary, but at the last minute found it impossible to be present, which was a source of deep regret to the organization. HUTSON further said in letters as reported by BEVILLE, that he did not get the work in time to leave his business in the office. He reported by letter that he thought that heirs held a claim that could be brought to a successful determinat! ion, but it would take time and a considerable amount of patience on the part of those interested. He said he wanted to meet with the heirs and make arrangements for further proceedings. MRS L R ADAMS moved that the doings of Atty. HUTSON, while in the East be investigated. MRS R S HOUSE, House Treasurer, read and explained the contract between MT HUTSON, the organization and the Treasure. A committee appointed to look up this point was elected. MR WILLIAM A BEVILLE, ex-chairman of Chicago meeting and MR DORAN of Louisville, KY, the present chairman, to act on this point and after the investigation the heirs will all be notified by circular letters of the investigation. An auditing committee appointed by MR R S HOUSE's report. MR CHARLES ALBERT and JAMES HAWKINS were elected. They find the report of the Treasurer correct. Moved and seconded that the committee be discharged, carried. Moved and seconded that the chairman and former chairman WM. A BEVILLE and J A DORAN of Louisville, be appointed to obtain copies of the records in this estate. Carried. Collections taken for current expenses. Moved and seconded that resolutions be made endoring the work of National Secretary, MRS L R ADAMS, showing full appreciation and thanking her for her actions and efforts in behalf of the organization, which have been entirely satisfactory. All information furnished by MRS ADAMS through the mails is by instructions of the organization. Signed: W J DORAN,. Chairman> LIDA R ADAMS, Sec. > R S HOUSE, Treasurer ( Copy of official minutes of Kokoma meeting). Note: The House Heirs Organization has now grown to approximately 400 claiming to be heirs.
