I will back up to prior page to make the letter more connected. Now there is a matter that I do not understand. May be you can explain it to me. You call ANDREW HOUSE JUNIOR. Now if he is Junior he therefore, must have been a brother to JOHN VALENTINE HOUSE our grandfather and therefore, must have been a very old man. Please explain that and tell us all you know about ANDREW HOUSE JR as we want to do the fair thing and if you can make the matter straight we will make him an heir with us, and go to work and get our estate, if it can be got. We expect soon to see the copy of the patent ( end of page one) Page two: and the heirs will make that all right. So there will be five heirs: WILLIAM, JOSEPH, ANDREW JR, RUTH DOWNS, AND SALLY BARNES. But we must not change the Will till the work is done, as we might lose the case by tampering with the Will, don't you think? I think the heirs ought to have a say in all property compromised, in all property sold, and in all rents where sale or compromise cannot be made by our agent, acting with the attorney. Then I think all the back rents of the property should be sued for, and a suit be brought against the Bank of Baltimore, the Gilman Estate and Brin & McPherson, as the land was condemned at 15 pence (per acre). He is said to have advertized for the heirs of ANDREW HOUSE to come on and get the back rents, there being thirty thousand (30,000) dollars due. The offer to my father to settle with the heirs was for compromise of sixty thousand (60.000) dollars offered by Brin & McPherson in the presence of Ben Pigman said to be the best lawyer in Maryland. Now the above statement came down to me from my parents, and I do not think they would tell a story about it. My mother told me that the cherry orchard farm was given to her mother, whose name before she married was MISS OGLE. I am not positive but I think her given name was ANN OGLE. Now that farm was near Frederick, Maryland. My mother lived sometime with her uncle DANIEL CAMERON at Sherardstown, Virginia when she was a girl and when her uncle CLINTON moved to Geneva, Fayette County, PA. they took her with them to Pennsylvania. She then became the wife of THOMAS PROCTOR. They had no children and my father lived twenty years with his wife and had no children then. Mrs. SALLY PROCTOR married DAVID BARNES and they have seven children. Hannah House,( died in 1882) my gg grandmother Olive Marsh Granger and her son , my grandfather, Lester Granger were all involved in the House Heirs Association in varying degrees up until last letter May 16, 1926 to Lester Granger. Then the House story takes on a whole new turn of events, as a fraud againt the House Heirs Association is suspected and the organization disbands.
