Their 1850 Census shows a daughter, Martha E. House born c 1849. Martha K., wife of Elbert Whittenburg was born ca. 1830. If only she had waited to marry, we'd know who her parents were. *smile* I do have the 1850 and 1860 Census records for Martha & Elbert, if you need them. My Hansel had several brothers who also came to Washington Co., IL and were there for the 1850 Census. As far as I can tell, one of them could possibly be Martha K.'s father. Jacob B. House married his first wife (name unk.) before 1831. How much before I don't know. The first child I show for Jacob & 1st wife was Stephen, born in 1831. There could have been a daughter born earlier. Jacob was born in 1802, so there was time for wife #1 and him to have been married several years earlier. So, maybe that's a clue for you. If you do ever learn who her parents were, I'd love to know also. I also have a little Whittenburg info and am most willing to "share and compare." Happily in Christ, Harlene
