Trying to find parents of Henry Gustavus House. Have new information that his father married a Cherokee Indian. Henry was born in Alabama in 1855 or 1856.

Hi Jean! I'm interested in your Henry House. My great-grandmother Matilda House was born 20 Feb 1854, location unknown. She married Thomas Hemphill Peter 'Pea' Roberts about 1870. We can find no census record listing her until after her marriage, nor can we find a marriage record. Family legend says that she was half-Indian. She seems to be about the right age to be a sister to your Henry House.
