    3. Hi Jim, Are you related to 'Col.' Edward Mandell HOUSE? He was my gg uncle. His sister, Mary Elizabeth, was my g-grandmother. I know lots about his father, T.W. HOUSE, but am having trouble tracking down T.W.'s baptism in Stoke St. Gregory, Somerset, England. I have been put in touch with quite a few cousins over the past year, and we are all working on finding T.W.'s parents. The Holland story is probably true, but it was many years before they went to England. I have heard that this family was in England for about 300 years. Thanks, BHudock224 for the info about the Handbook of Texas Online. It has some wonderful information there, only not T.W.'s parents. Someone from a different HOUSE line says she has seen his baptism, but did not copy it. I myself and other cousins in England have all looked for it to no avail, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. He may have been baptised in a different parish near Stoke St. Gregory and not SSG itself. I would love to hear from anyone who is in Edward's line and who might have information on his HOUSE grandparents. I also have some info on his maternal line, the SHEARNs. Incidentally, Charles SHEARN is also in the Handbook of Texas Online.
