Can anyone really connect John Haus/House to Mark/Marx Haus/House? 1. Mark House, Also known as Marx Haus, b. abt 1740, Bladen, Germany, d. c 1786, North Carolina, buried: St. John's Lutheran?. Estate settlement, 8 December 1786, Rowan County NC lists wife and children. Deeded part of the 100 acres to congregation of Dutch Buffalo Meeting House in 1782 (Later Saint John's Lutheran). Lost an arm in Revolutionary War. Wife Friesland information came from Richard Groner. The two families do not fit if Mark married Bost (named in his will ) after Friesland died. Named orphan of Marx House aged 12 years and 5 months 16 April 1793, Cabarrus Co, NC Court of P & QS. Bound to Peter Quilman for 5 years and 7 months. She married Abraham Ritchie, (son of John George Ritschee and Catherine Walcher). 6. xi John House. Not mentioned in will. Connection tenuous Second Generation 2.
