Surnames: House Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SFk.2ACIB/1292 Message Board Post: I am looking for info on my ancestor William Elias House (marriage certificate says Houze) b. 4 Feb 1800 NC married 16 Nov 1926 to Catherine Crumbley (dau. of Anthony and Elizabeth Armstrong Crumbley) in Henry County GA. William died supposedly fighting indians @ 1838. His widow and some of his children moved to the Clay county Alabama area around 1851. I would LOVE to attach him someway to the John Valentine line because his son was named George Voulentine. Could be a family name? I can find no record of his fighting indians or of his death at all. Nor can I find where he came from. A parial clue may be that in a census of the Henry County area in 182? shows a Samuel House living with William and his family. Could be a brother or something.
