Emma is my great great great grandmother, and yes in deed, Henrietta always known as "Hett" camd from Iowa City to Merrill, Iowa in 1880, to care for Emma. The Hancers came to Merrill in 1876, from Iowa City, when Emma's husband, Fred Hancer, received urgening messages from his good boyhood friend, Nathanial "Nat" Hammond, who had arrived in Merrill, on Dec 24th, 1872.
