I have only found three things on Brinkley House. He is shown as a carpenter in the early records of Wake Co, NC. He is on a land warrant in Wake Co dated 14 Nov 1807: Edwin HOLDING Entered 5 acres of vacant land in Wake County on the waters of HAIR SNIPE CREEK, Joining the lines of John KIMBROUGH, John RILEY, Brinkley HOUSE and Reuben JACKSON. E. Holding E.T. (entry taker). Entered before William PEACE esquire. I was told by another House researcher that Brinkley had two known sons: Sion and Thomas. Brinkley was supposed to have moved to Madison Co, GA, where he died in 1816. Hair Snipe Creek is close to the Crab Tree and Houses Creek locations in what is now Raleigh, NC. Several of my House families and other families lived in this area. John Riley is one of my gr grandfathers. His daughter, Mary, m. John Hartsfield in Wake Co, 1790. He also had a son named John. One of my gr aunts married into the Jackson family. John Kimbrough is connected to the wealthy Kimbrough/Embrough family. I don't have anything on a family named Holding. Brinkley House may be related to my Archibald House lines, but I have not found a definite connection. Archibald's known brother was Thomas, and he shows up with a James, John and William House. There is a 1992 issue of a periodical named House Hunting that has a mention of a bible of Brinkley House. I don't have this issue, but I found it on the House Hunting web site. Phyllis Mistrot
