    3. I am a House descendant, through Edna F. House, wife of Robert Nathaniel Edwards. She was born 1851, in Hickman Co., KY, the daughter of James Horn House and Frances Ann Johnson. James Horn House's parents were Everett House and Nancy Ward. The family moved to Hickman, KY from Stewart/Henry Co., TN in 1828. I'm trying to identify Everett House's parents. He was born in NC in 1802, and I know there was an Everett/Everitt House in old Dobbs Co., NC in the 1770s-1780s, but I can't find a link. I suspect a connection with the Bright family, as there was a Bright House resident of Hickman Co., KY; A Simon Bright was in Dobbs Co., NC (several generations), and an early settler of Stewart Co., TN (1795). Also in the 1850 census of Obion Co., TN, Jane Bright, age 74 was in the household of George House, age 66, b. NC. There was a John B. House in Henry Co., TN, who died c.1848, a son of Baylis House of Bertie Co., NC, and I think there may have been another John House in the same area at about the same time. The House family apparently migrated into NC from Isle of Wight and Nansemond Counties, VA, led by George House in 1730. From there they filtered into Edgecomb Co. and Dobbs Co. -- and points south and west. If anyone has any thoughts and/or comments about my Everett House, I sure would like to know them. 3. Hi Carroll, I can't help immediately with your search but I was interested in your Isle of Wight reference. My wife's ancestor HOUSEs were living in Dorset (Puddletown area) in the late 1600s and 1700s, they moved to Portsea(Portsmouth) in the mid 1800s - a bit later than yours - this was of course close to the Isle of Wight - indeed Margaret's great grandfather married someone from an Isle of Wight family. Over the centuries it seem that there was a regular "migration" from Dorset to the Portsmouth area, I wonder if your ancestors did the same , but a bit earlier and ended up on the Isle of Wight before migrating to the USA. If you ever find and Dorset links do try and get in touch please.
