Just re-iterating my interests. Francis HOUSE born 1796 Hilton, Dorset married Harriet THORNE 29.4.1822 in All Saints Parish Church, Hilton. Witnesses were Hannah THORNE & Henry HOUSE. They had at least 9 children. Particularly interested in their daughter, Elizabeth born 1828 baptised 6.7.1828 at Hilton married John FRISELL 23.11.1848 at Hilton. Elizabeth & John raised their family nearby in Milton Abbas, Dorset. I have received info. that Francis's parents & grandparents came from Melcombe Horsey, Dorset. In the Census Transcriptions provided by Ancestry.com many have been transcribed as House when in reality the Enumerator has listed the family as HOWSE. At the end of each Township the Enumerator has written the phrase "Dwellings and Houses" so it is very easy to compare the handwritten word "house" with the actual Census Listings for "House", "Howse", Hawse and so on. I also found several families listed as living in 2 different Townships. This is easily explained as the Enumerator ended 1 Twp and started another on the same sheet of paper. So if the family was at the very beginning or the every end of the Census they *can* be listed as living in 2 different Twps. Ancestry.com has made many errors as far as the transcribed listings for the House/Howes/Howse Families.

William died supposedly fighting indians @ 1838. His widow and some of his children moved to the Clay county Alabama area around 1851. I would LOVE to attach him someway to the John Valentine line because his son was named George Voulentine. Could be a family name? I can find no record of his fighting indians or of his death at all. Nor can I find where he came from. A parial clue may be that in a census of the Henry County area in 182? shows a Samuel House living with William and his family. Could be a brother or something. Anyway, if any of this rings a bell to anyone, PLEASE contact me. Thanks.
