I have information about his family, and it doesn't appear that either girl fits in. While it's possible that Julia Ann and Elizabeth are daughters of Nathan House, it's also possible they are daughters of Samuel House. Nathan and Samuel are also sons of Francis and Mary (older brothers of Richard). Samuel died in 1837. He names three children in his will, namely, Mary, Elizabeth and Francis. Elizabeth may be the one who married Smith Thomas. Julia Ann died before Samuel as did her child. Thus she would not be mentioned in his will if she was a child. I am not sure I have full details about the children of Nathan House.

Ann was born in Brockenhurst and Edward was baptised in Beaulieu. I am tracing back Edward's parents and grandparents back via Tilehurst and Newbury of Berkshire,England. This line around 1800's were living at Brockenhurst. 2nd line is of Moses House and Sarah Warwick. This is a large tree back to 1600's. This line started off in Rockbourne then moved to Minstead before landing in Brockenhurst. In both cases the families can get confussing but I am willing to help anyone who thinks they may have some connection to either family tree. I have made connections with several fellow researchers connected to both sides of this wonderful family tree. The two tree's connect via only two marriages at present but both are large and in need of present day decesentants. So if anyone is interested in the New Forest House family trees with the main connection to Brockenhurst Village in Hampshire, England. They lived in Esopus and resided at Rokeby Farm - of the Astor - Chanler Family. Children included Henry J. b.1840, Charles E. b.1846, Helen J. b.1847, Eliza b. 1851, George b. 1854, Julia b. 1836 (?), and Sarah b. 1839 (?). All children were born near Esopus, NY. I believe that Josiah may be a son of Jeremiah and Ruth (Purple) House. In the 1820 census of Hartford County, Glastonbury, Conn. pg.326, a male child is shown that would be the correct age for Josiah. No genealogies record this child. Could it be Josiah? They had as least two children; Mary and Margaret. Daughter Mary married Henry E. Bailey in Giles Co Tn in 1868, and Mrs. William House was living in their household in the 1870 Giles Census. In the 1900 Kaufman Co. Tx. census, 72 year old William House was living in the Henry Bailey household, and listed as father-in-law. I calculate that William House was born in 1828.
