    3. Hello Beth, bmallis@yahoo.com Can you tell me if your Hiram House ties into the HOUSE family from Slate Milles, VA. I have a feeling that he does. My link Mathais House JR also went to Ripley Co., Mo from Garrard Co., Ky but later returned to Ky. His daughter Frankie Jarvis went to Davis County, Iowa. The findagrave.com idea was really nicely done. Nancy House Perry __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Buried in Lincoln Cemetery in Grimes, Iowa. Hiram and family moved to Des Moines around 1922 -'29. Lived in Ripley county, Missouri before that. Was born in Du Quoin, Ill. I think Guy was probably born in Missouri. Spent 20 years looking for Hiram and Alice. HIram is the brother of my grandfather William George McClellan House. Justin (Guy) had brothers Hyde, Emery, (Pud) Elanora (Sis) House Davis, (I have her son's telephone number.) Ann House Smith and Chester, (Chet). I know Elanor and Emery are buried in Lincoln also. chester is buried in St. Louis somewhere. We have Hiram's line if you feel this is the same one. Please visit the findagrave cemetery sites of Hiram House In Polk County, Iowa, Lincoln Cemetery. www.findagrave.com ,go to find a cemetery after you get on the web site. Fill in Lincoln for name of cemetery, Iowa for state and Polk for county.

    3. Hello, I am researching the family HOUSE. I have just begun this task and can only go back to John William House, b. 06-02-1912 in Texas and d. 08-1961 in Edinburgh, Texas. He went by the names of "J.W." and "Slim". He was an oilfield truck driver and tool pusher. J.W. had several brothers and sisters; two brothers, one called "Slim" (yes, this can get confusing!) and one called "Bud". His sisters were; Belle who lived in Taft, TX and Effie. There may have been two other sisters. The Houses allegedly came to the Temple, Bell County, area of Texas from Mississippi around the turn of the century. They had farms in the Heidenhammer area and some lived in Bartlett and Rogers. J.W. married Hazel Marie Gibson about 1933-34 and they had a large family of 9 children; Christene Marie b. 1934, John William Jr. b. 1936, Martin Dwane b. 1938, Howard Lee b. 1941, Mary Ann b. 1942, David Gordon b. 1946, Susan Elizabeth b. 1948, Terry Jane b. 1952, and Laura Kay b. 1954. At various times J.W. and Hazel lived is Rio Grande City, Sinton, Kenedy, Alice, Edinburg...all in Texas. If any one can connect my J.W. to one of their lines, I would be so appreciative. Thanks! Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/SFk.2ACIB/946.1034.1 Message Board Post: My girlfriend family are descended from Abram House (born in Oswego County I think in 1837) and Louisa White (born in Yorkville, Oneida County I think 1837) from Parish. They were married in 1857 in Colosse, NY and had I think 8 children. Abram was one of 12 children born to Andrew House (Haus) and Elizabeth Scriber. I know there was an Addison who lived in Syracuse (alive in 1907) an Amos who lived in Phoenix (alive in 1907---we have his undated obit) and we don't have any of the other names. We have many, many unmarked photos, and the Abram House Bible. The daughters married Carr, Richards, Woods. Abram and Lousia are buried in Dugway cemetery, Albion Township, Oswego COunty,New York. We are very interested in coresponding with people related to this family. Elizabeth Scriber House was from a large family, her mother or grandmother was Mary Walrath who was written about during the Indian conflicts in Mohawk Valley.

    3. We think our William Baxter House was born around 1819 +/- one year. We picked this date up based on the census data from the 1850 census. Our William B. House was in Green Township in Clinton County Ohio in 1850. Some census reports indicate a birthplace of VT (or possibly VA based on handwriting), but I've never come up with anything from my searches of VT data. I suspose a GA connection could be possible ----- Original Message ----- From: <tom_house@hotmail.com> To: <HOUSE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, March 04, 2003 1:08 PM Subject: Re: House family bible 1855 Georgia > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/SFk.2ACIB/1419.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Do you have a date of birth on that William B. In fact in 1776 the House brothers were split over a petition to form a new state called Transylvania(combining PA and VA). Some of the brothers singed pro others against. The Andrews were on both sides. I suspect there were fathers and sons as there were so many Houses with the same first names. It makes following them hard. Jessie
