Reverend Wesley Martin will officiate. Interment follows in Crossroads Cemetery in Sasakwa. Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home. Mrs. Payne died Sunday, June 22, 2003 at her home. Mrs. Payne was born January 18, 1933 in Sasakwa, Okla. to John and Katie (Crump) House. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee McKinley Payne, her parents John and Katie House; two brothers: Robert House and R. H. House; six grandchildren: Joe, Glenda, Bobby, Kenneth, Wilma Dean, and Donald Lee Payne. Mrs. Payne lived in the Konawa area for 29 years before moving to Burns, Tenn. She enjoyed canning vegetables fresh out of the garden, a good game of dominoes and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church in Sasakwa and attended Cornerstone Church of God in Dickson. Survivors include; sister, Alta Mae Wright of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Ben House of Camden, Ark., John House of Clarksville, Tenn., Paul House of Oklahoma City and Jessie House of Tyler, Texas; sons, Randy Payne and wife, Cathy of Waldron, Ark., Gary Payne and wife, Arlene, of Burns, Tenn., Donnie Payne and wife, Christy, of Burns, Tenn., Bruce Payne and wife, Mary, of Sulphur, daughters, Virginia Tull and husband, Bill, of Hon, Ark., Phyllis Beeler and husband, Jerry, of Waldron, Ark.; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Her family came from Barking in Essex and my great grandfather was William House born about 1865/6 and my grandfather was Charles House born about 1905. I know there were about 13 children in this family but have only got the following names Emma, Harry, Charles (my grandfather) Alfred and Edith. My great grandmothers name was Edith. James married Sarah Lazaray (also spelt Lazray or Lazzari) at Newcastle upon Tyne in 1874. His age is given as 21 (so he was born about 1853) and he is a soldier in the Royal Artillery, his father's name is also James House and he is a labourer. James was in the army and his postings included Colchester and Woolwich. We believe he died in India in about 1878 as his widow remarried there in 1879. Their children were David, Elizabeth and James, who also sometimes used their stepfather's surname of TALBOT(T). In the 1901 census David is living in Dover with his wife Martha and children James and Charles.

William HOUSE, born May 1828 in Tennessee married Mary KELTNER in Tn about 1849. (Mary was the daughter of Emanuel Keltner and Nellie Musgrove.) William House and wife Mary Keltner had two daughters, Rachel (1853-1890) and Margaret. Rachel married Henry E. BAILEY in Giles Co. Tn. in 1868. The last I can find on William House is the 1900 Kaufman Co. Tx. census. He was 72 years old and living with his son-in-law, Henry Bailey. There is no death record for William in that county. Can anyone shed any light at all on the family of this WILLIAM HOUSE? Who were his parents and siblings, etc.? Thanks, Jerry

I have several Houses in the tree that I need help with: James Henry Payne and Elizabeth Beard were "married at Cornelius Hause" Cornelius W House was married to Mary Margaret Beard. Cornelius was born about 1818 in Maryland and died in 1853 in Wayne County, IN Also and Cornelius house married Elizabeth Baker in 1848. Is this the same person. How are Elizabeth and Mary related. Cornelius and Mary had the following children Elizabeth born 1847 in MD Mary born 1849 in MD Cornelia born 1851, died 1876 married ? Owens born in Indiana John Calvin born in Ohio 1853, died in 1900 Married Elizabeth Lucinda Payne daughter of James Henry Payne and Elizabeth Beard. He married Julia Ann Tatman. I think Sheila has her facts mixed up becuase if she is the Sheil I know, she is my cousin and has this information. We cannot find any further information on Jairus House. It has been shown in documents as Jerrus but on census records as Jairus. He died before 1850 or at least he disappeared before then so I can't reference any census records that would tell where he was born etc... Hope this helps.
