It is my pleasure to share information on the Houses from Warren Co Illinois. In addition to House, I also research Loveridge, Jeanes/Jaynes from the same area. Let's start with James HOUSE, born Somerset, ENG about 1841. According to a tombstone inscription in Fuller Cemetery, Henderson Twp. Knox Co Illinois, James was born in 1842 and died in 1862. The death date of 1862 surprised me, but it definitely looked like 1862. His wife, Mary F. was born in 1846 and died in 1919. In the 1880 census of Kelley Twp. Warren Co IL, James was listed as age 38 and born in England. His neighbors were Charles and Louise House and Robert and Emaline (House) Jeanes. One of James and Mary's children was Anna E. House who was born in1866 but died in 1867. She, also, is buried in the Fuller Cemetery in Knox Co Illinois. Another child of James and Mary's was Frank. According to my notes, Frank married Mary A. Laughead on 11 Nov. 1896. I have a picture of Bessie G. House with Bernice House taken at Clearfield, Iowa. At the present time, I am not sure if Bessie is a daughter of James or Charles. You also inquired about Charles HOUSE who was born in Stoke St. Gregory, Somerset, ENG in 1812. (My relatives were also born in Stoke St. Gregory). Charles (M. or E.) House married Margaret Riley on Dec. 24, 1840. Margaret was born about 1823 in Indiana and died on 14 Oct. 1863 according to my information. They had at least three children: 1. Emeline born Feb. 1850 in IL. married Robert Jeanes who was born ENG about 1850. They were married 10 Aug. 1870. Emeline was buried in Fuller Cem. 2. Charles House was also buried in Fuller Cem. 3. Elizabeth House was buried in Fuller Cem. I also have some information on Charles B. House who was born 24 July, 1812 in England and died 11 Feb. 1886. This Charles married Louisa Francisco on 12 May 1863 in Warren Co IL. Louisa wa born 22 Mar 1820 in England. She died 14 Sept. 1883. If I read your inquiry correctly, this Charles and the Charles who married Margaret Riley are the same person. Is that correct? Parents of Charles B. House born 24 July 1812 in Eng. are James House of Stoke St. Gregory and Elizabeth Brewer of SSG OR Elizabeth Hutchens. Hope to hear from you. Fran

Surnames: HOUSE - WHITTENBURG Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SFk.2ACIB/1562.1.1 Message Board Post: I'm pretty sure that Martha K. was not a child of my Hansel & Martha "Patsy" CARTER HOUSE. Their 1850 Census shows a daughter, Martha E. House born c 1849. Martha K., wife of Elbert Whittenburg was born ca. 1830. If only she had waited to marry, we'd know who her parents were. *smile* I do have the 1850 and 1860 Census records for Martha & Elbert, if you need them. My Hansel had several brothers who also came to Washington Co., IL and were there for the 1850 Census. As far as I can tell, one of them could possibly be Martha K.'s father. Jacob B. House married his first wife (name unk.) before 1831. How much before I don't know. The first child I show for Jacob & 1st wife was Stephen, born in 1831. There could have been a daughter born earlier. Jacob was born in 1802, so there was time for wife #1 and him to have been married several years earlier. So, maybe that's a clue for you. If you do ever learn who her parents were, I'd love to know also. I also have a little Whittenburg info and am most willing to "share and compare." Happily in Christ, Harlene
