John: You stated, "Cyrus HOUSE, born 1811 in Beamsville, Ontario. . ." I have him being born in Burford, Brantford, Ontario, Canada. Howard
John: I have a great grandmother, also a widow, named, Hannah E. HOUSE (1829-1893), Brantford, Norfolk, Ontario, CANADA. She was first married to ____ KEMP, Pennsylvania, USA. (I believe this is correct, since she seems to have a grave site with his name in her family's graveyard.) They had 4 children. (I know their names, if you need them.) She secondly married Theodore SHARP (1837-1878), Brantford, Norfolk, Ontario, CANADA. They, also, had 4 more children. (I know their names, if you need them.) He mustered in Michigan for the U.S.Civil War. He eventually died of complications from a bullet wound in the U.S. Civil War. (I am currently in the process of obtaining his records from the National Archives of the U.S.) I believe Hannah's father may have been either Cyrus or Harmanus HOUSE. (Both seemed to have married women of the name, "Elizabeth.") I need proof. Does the "UE" in your note, stand for "United Empire Loyalist?" (My family was full of UELs!) Both the HOUSE and SHARP families are very difficult to find. I am currently in the process of waiting for more information on the families from two separate family sources. They are keeping me waiting, but I trust they will eventually have some information for me. Where did the other children move to in the U.S.A.? (I have some family photographs, annotated, which may shed some light on this question.) However, I recently moved from Pennsylvania back to California, and I cannot yet find them. These photographs, if I recall correctly, were taken in the early 1900s. Another interesting note! Otterville was the home of William Francis Lawrence (1819-1896) and Elizabeth Anne Longstreet (1925-?). They were my great grandparents. Let's keep in touch, and compare notes! I have a book titled Norman-An Early History,1820-1900. In this book it has a photo of the Norman Cornet Band. George House is in this photo. He is also listed as an officer in the Knights of Pythias. I would be glad to scan the picture and article for anyone researching this George House. Still looking for Almiron or Almyron or Myron House who married Millicent Bridge. All I know of them is that they had a daughter named Louisa who married Daniel G. Robinson in 1831 in Ashtabula Co., OH. They were listed on her death record as her parents. She was born 1810 in Augusta , Oneida Co., NY. Would appreciate any help out there. Sonia
Hi, Well it took awhile but I finally got around to adding my HOUSE line to my FTM home page. I was waiting for FTM version 8.0 to come out because it had a few new features to aid in creating home pages. You can see my HOUSE line by going to www.familytreemaker.com/users/g/a/r/John-J-Garner/ and then linking on "Genealogy Report: Descendants of Johan Christian Haus." If you see any connections with your own families I would like to hear from you. Free use of this material is permitted but I insist that none of this report be put on any material that is for sale.
I went to Lunenburg,Va and to Victoria,Va to the library to look for info on my White's and Walker's and I found some. They made me copies of several pages of information and I thought I would list the surnames I saw. If anyone wants me to copy down for them the info on the names I will. Of course most are just witnesses to selling of land but some are about the people selling their own land or possessions or slaves. These are from 1763.
