    1. Deciphering Handwriting at a Glance Hint
    2. Deciphering Handwriting at a Glance Concentrating on trying to decipher old, foreign and/or illegible handwriting in your genealogical documents can be frustrating. We're all familiar with the power of our peripheral vision capturing an image or a piece of information. Sometimes by setting the difficult document to the side and glancing at it with your peripheral vision, you may be able to make out that cryptic writing. Another way to try to read is to turn it upside down. Another perspective might help you see the information in a new way and solve your deciphering dilemma.

    3. Posted on: House Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/House/10169 Surname: House, Coy, Essex, Crady ------------------------- This family has been all over KY, in Mercer, Hancock, LaRue, Bullitt, Nelson and Jefferson Counties as well as across the river into Indiana. My wall is finding which JOHN VALENTINE HOUSE is the father of SIMEON HOUSE 1788-1838, married to NANCY PHILLIPS. I have Simeon's mother SARAH (Unknown) appointed as guardian of the two minor children, JACOB and SIMEON, orphans of JOHN V. HOUSE, deceased. This was recorded in Mercer Co. in 1800. Also recorded in July 3, 1807, that Jacob and Simeon House sold some of their land to David Jones. This land was bounded by Kinney and Thompson. So their father must have died in Mercer Co., but I can't find him. I have exhausted all my ideas on how to determine which one of the many John Valentine House is the father. This family seemed to name many of their sons John Valentine and none that I have found fit the dates or the location. Any ideas or help would be wonderful. Thanks Dolores

Obviously, to have a stepson, Henry must have, either then or by a previous marriage, been married to a House. Please advise whatever knowledge you have about this situation. Thank you. Joanne

Posted on: House Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/FamilyAssoc/House/10158 Surname: George House ------------------------- Looking for your help in finding information on a George House. The only known information is that he, on 7 Aug 1826 in probably York County, PA, for some unknown reason required a court appointed quardian. This was due to the fact that he was under 14 years of age at the time. Therefore. George House must have been born about 1815, give or take a couple of years. If it helps, the guardian named was Henrich Aughenbaugh.
