There are two death dates - 1856 & 1862. Ruth m. #1Robert RICHARDSON, #2 Thornton BURLEY, # 3 Thomas DOWNS. The only children I have are from DOWNS. Ruth was the first child of John Valentine HOUSE(1738-1826). Ruth's dau-in-law entered DAR on this line. My ancestor was her brother, Joseph P. HOUSE(1784-1829). Do you have any proof of John Valentine's wife?

My House ancestors end with Ruth House, who married Thomas Downs. She was born in 1759 and died after 1860 according to what I have. That would make her over 100 years old, so I have my doubts about the birth & death dates. She was (again from my records) born in Maryland. She was the daughter of John Valentine House and Sally Harbison. John was son of Andrew & Catherine. John was the son of John & Susannah House and John's father was Andreas House. If you can verifiy any of this please let me know. I will be happy to trade info with you. Tom Hogle

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/SFk.2ACIB/1254.2 Message Board Post: In various research into the House families three House people pop up very much so: Jacob House, son of Elias House, all of which are from Cabarrus County, N.C.; Jacob House of the Salisbury District in Rowan County, N.C.; and GreenDuke House of Dallas County, Arkansas. My look into this is that some of those House family people in Wake County are and just might be related to those of Cabarrus County, and you may want to check those names out. Clues: Jacob of Cabarrus married Sarah Barringer; Jacob of Salisbury married Elizabeth Freeze. He however died and was buried in DuQuoin, Illinois. Good luck

I do not know the exact date of their marriage but presumbably it was in P:ulaski county Ky. Mary House and John House were among those at the reading of my David Meek's will. I do not have any info at all on the parents of this John HOuse, would love anything at all on his parents and siblings as House, Meek, Richey, Spencer, mcWhorter, Fitzgerald are all in my family tree and all in Pulaski co ky and Jennings co in.     3. Looking for information of Theophalus House b 1811 VA. He married Permalia 1850. Looking for her maiden name. On 1850 Oktibbeha County, MS, Census is listed Theo, Permalia and Edward (13). Then on the 1860 Oktibbeha County, MS, Census it lists Theo, Permalia, Andrew b 1851, Eliza V. b 1852 and Oscar Johnson b 8/11/1854. Could this Edward Thomas House b 2/21/1835 in AL who m Mary Frances Stovall b 6/19/1840 MS be the Edward House listed on 1850 census? Who is Mary b 1770 VA? What is her maiden name and who was her husband? Was she the mother or grandmother of Theo? Thanks in advance for any help. Marie McGraw

Archibald may have been married more than once. I am not sure that Darkus Darnes is the same person as Mima. If her last name is really Darnes, she is the only one I have found in Wake Co. Archibald died in 1795 and his will was never presented for probate. His youngest son, Mark, filed a lawsuit against Mima and Randolph and Elizabeth "Betsy" House Cope. Randolph and Elizabeth are my 4th gr grandparents. Mark lost the suit but it is thought that he moved to GA near his uncle, James House. Mark had died before 1850. I can move sideways on the House lines but I am having a problem getting past Archibald and his father (Thomas?). Phyllis Mistrot

I am descended from James who was married to Rebecca. Many of these Houses emigrated to GA (Wilkes, Oglethorpe, Madison and Greene Counties). James and his family were in Wilkes County, GA by the 1790's. Burwell (son of James) married Edith Forrester (also from NC) in Oglethorpe County, GA in 1797. He later emigrated to Greene County, GA. I want to connect the dots and will be happy to swap info.
