She married him in Tipton, Cedar Co., Iowa on August 22, 1883. They were both reported as living in Iowa Twsp., Cedar Co., Iowa at the time. She was born in New York, possibly in 1864, but I'm not sure. They divorced in 1907 or 1908 and Leonard Ransom Long then married Anna Schlaegel Buck. Charlotte and Leonard had two sons, Edward Long, who had a wife named Gertie in Centerville, Iowa, and Leslie Richard ("Dick") Long of Copeland, Idaho. Charlotte may have remarried and died in California. I am related to the Saums, Cronkhites, and Longs of Olin in Jones Co., some of whom migrated south to neighboring Cedar Co. I would be interested in learning all I can of the House families in Jones and Cedar Co. Iowa who probably came from New York.

Belinda was the daughter of Aaron and Phebe Mitchell House; and grand daughter of Matthias and Mary Margaret House of Madison county, VA. Belinda was born in 1819. In addition, there was a William Henshaw who married a Nancy Mitchell (b. 1778 according to 1850 census). Nancy Mitchell was the supposed step-daughter of Margaret Shaddock Mitchell who later was the second wife of Matthias House. Nancy Mitchell was the sister of Phebe Mitchell who married Aaron House, son of Matthias. Hope this helps.

My Hiram HOUSE was born in VT (I do not know town or county) about 1835 and was married to a woman named Emeline according to a New York census.

Hi everyone: It has been a while since I posted this. I am looking for some connection between the surnames of House, McFeely and Andrews, later part of 1700's. Arthur Andrews, b. 1810, OH and his wife Sarah McFeely, b. 1815, OH named their second son Joel House Andrews. I would think that House would be a surname. I have not been able to locate the parents of Arthur Andrews and after 15 years I am still stumped. I believe that Sarah is the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Rogers McFeely although I have no conclusive proof at this time. Arthur and Sarah were married in Butler Co., OH in 1831. I have not been able to locate them in 1840 but possible they were living in Tippicanoe Co., IN in 1842. They were living in Montgomery Co., IN on the 1850 and 60 census and living in Page Co., OH in 1870. Sarah continued on to Nebraska after the death of Arthur in 1876 with several of her children. I would love to compare notes with anyone regarding a House connection for Sarah and ARthur. Debbie
