I talked with your Aunt Zena last night. We are still trying to find the connection between our 2 George House's. My George was born in 1858 and your George was born in 1873. My George lived in Princeton, Dallas County, Arkansas. My great uncle Raymond House used to visit your great grandfather Samuel House in Forrest City. Zena and I think there is a connection between the two families, but so far we have not been able to obtain documentation. I met your uncle Bradley last year when they were here in Detroit, MI. Do you live anywhere near Forrest City? We really need someone to go to the courthouse to look up some records on the House family there (marriage, deaths & probate information). I can send you the information I have if you like. E-mail me at mcarpen553@aol.com Marva Yarrell Lansing, MI
HOUSE David Jerseyville Wentworth Ancaster HM-115 He seems to have married Hannah Elizabeth ______ ? Marriage records of the children have been found to contain the names, David and Hannah Elizabeth HOUSE. Their children may have been, the following: Teresa, Lija, Elizabeth, and Nettie. Nettie may have been the d/o Michael MOSES. Hannah Elizabeth HOUSE (1829-1893), Baptist, seems to have married two more times, as follows: Michael MOSES (????-????), and Theodore SHARP (1837-1878), Methodist, b. Glanford Township, Wentworth County, Ontario, Canada. Theodore SHARP and Hannah Elizabeth HOUSE are buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford, Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada together with her son Theodore "Frank" Munroe SHARP. Is anyone familiar with these families, or this person? It is difficult to fine a clear path to these relationships. Suggestions are welcome. Howard

England to the gold rush (?), after 1851. In the Mariposa Co. Censuses from 1860, 1870 he is listed with wife Mary A. House(from Ireland), children: Joseph, Francis, John, Alice, Annie, Eva, Daniel. He has parents from England. May be a missing sibling of my g-grandfather. Any other Daniel House arriving in the US from Somerset, Co. England, after 1851 is also a possibility! Thanks, Claire

I did pay $45.00 for the document and am hoping it will of enough interest to a descendent that I can get reimbursed. It took me a while to decide whether or not to buy it at that price, but it was so special I went for it. If you would like a photo copy I would be glad to send one to you. My House line is in Illinois. The certificate is large (about 14" by 16") with inset photos of the wedding couple. Susie

The stories appear in their original form, although some have been edited for length. 125 YEARS AGO Feb. 14, 1877 Local Affairs "On Wednesday last an eight year old daughter of Mr. John P. House, of Walpack, met with an accident , while handling a powder flask, that came near proving fatal. The child, which was left in the room alone for a few minutes while its mother was hanging up her day's washing, proceeded to amuse itself and finally took down her father's powder flask, containing between a quarter and a half pound of powder . The child then proceeded to the stove with the flask and while engaged in pouring some of the powder out into her hand, dropped the flask upon the stove. The powder exploded with a loud report, badly injuring the child and setting fire to her dress and hair. She had the presence of mind to run to a tub of water nearby and extinguished the flames before the mother arrived on the scene. The front of her dress was entirely burnt off and a portion of her hair. At last advices she was rapidly recovering." (no relation to me, just posting)
Just re-iterating my interests in the HOUSE family from Streatley during the period 1682-1770. Robert HOUSE married Frances PARFITT at Enborne in 1681 and had six children in all: Robert and Frances were baptised at Goring, Oxfordshire, and Henry, Mary and Hannah were baptised at Streatley. A sixth child, John, was probably baptised at Goring although some of the parish records have not survived. Robert HOUSE died in 1706 and his wife Frances in 1726. Both are buried at Streatley. As for their children: Their son, Robert, married Sarah BAYLIE at Reading in 1707 and then returned to Streatley. Frances married John RUSH in 1710, who later became Sir John RUSH. John probably married a woman by the name of Jane, although I am still searching for the marriage entry. I think Jane died in 1738 and John re-married to Elizabeth POWELL in 1739 at Streatley. Elizabeth died in 1748 and John died in 1753, both at Streatley. Hannah was a spinster at the time of her mother’s death in 1726, when she would have been aged about 27. Henry may have moved to Hertfordshire and later Middlesex, although I am still researching this aspect. It is possible that he died in 1763 as there is a burial entry in the Streatley parish registers for a “Mr Henry House”. If anyone can add to this information, please let me know. Many thanks Doug Stewart
