Hello to all. One of my brick walls concerns my ancestor Michael F. Houghton. He was a merchant in Augusta, Georgia, USA, in the late 1700s. He married Elizabeth Harris in Augusta in 1798, and they had one child, William Michael Seneca Houghton (b. March 1800). Michael sailed to England later that year to buy goods for his business (according to oral family history). Death notices of Georgia newspapers reported that he died, probably in October or November, 1800, in Liverpool. I'd like info re the circumstances of his death, where he was buried, etc. Can someone with the ability to research English records, or news articles of that time be of assistance? Thanks. Terry G.
