Have some correspondence from Lloyd Speedy in New Zealand from 1986. Names are Alfred John HOUGHTON arrived in Auckland the sailing ship Antiope c 1880 and settled at Waiuku. Children Tristram Alfred, Alfred S Houghton, and Marion Ellen Houghton b 1861 it has Devonshire after this name, so presume that she was born there. Marion married JHH Speedy . Mr Speedy also sent me a copy of the Lincoln Inn Heralds Office, Great Turnstile Lincoln's Inn Fields =Houghton= of Yorkshire (from Lancaster) and appears to be a Houghton Tree. I won't go into it online, but if anyone would care for a copy, I could try to scan it and send as an attachment or photocopy and post. Let me know. I have a couple more letters that I will put to the list in the future. They are replies that I have had and that are not mine. How about if everyone does the same? I am sure we all have letters and references that are not ours. If everyone posted one or two at a time so as not to bog the list if interested then the sender could be contacted for the name and address of the person who wrote the letter. What do you think?
