Dear Kathy My oldest Houghton that I am certain of is my GGGrandfather William Lake Houghton born in 1809 in Rensselear County, NY. I think his parents were Daniel and Polly Houghton. I have no idea of her maiden name. I am sorry I can't help you. Please keep my address in your file if you come across a Daniel Houghton in the late 1780's or 1790's.
