What I do know about the family is as follows:- I have birth certificates for four of their children - 1873 Robert Frederick (my grandfather) Mile End Old Town father Robert William REED and mother Ellen Harriet REED formerly HOUGHTON. 1879 Ellen Louise Ethel REED Kent Road Surrey ditto 1889 Jessie Harriet Emma REED West Ham Essex ditto and Harriet Ellen Amelia REED West Ham Essex ditto. From the census details below Ellen was single in 1871 and appears married to Robert as Ellen READ b c 1852 Greenwich Kent. Married Harriet Spencer abt 1844. They had the following children; John, Ralph, Sarah, William and Samuel. They were all born in Hulme, Manchester. Ralph was a bricklayer. Ralph married Annie Rowles Oct 29, 1881 in Chorlton. They had the following children; William, Arthur and Wiiliam(born in Chorlton) Sadie, Frank and Nellie(born in NY) and Annie(born in Canada) Ralph emigrated to Queens, NY in May of 1886 and Annie and the children followed in 1888. 1. SPAULDING - HOUGHTON Family Autograph Album
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old autograph album which originally belonged to Althea S. BARRETT of Sullivan, NH. I believe that Althea's Mother was a SPAULDING and the album includes entries from members of the SPAULDING Family. The album contains the following entries: Autograph Album belonging to Althea S. BARRETT Sullivan N.H. Referred to as "Allie" Based on limited research I believe that this album belonged to Althea Spaulding BARRETT b. 15 Nov 1869 in Sullivan, NH to parents Marshall John BARRETT and Clarissa Adaline SPAULDING. The family was recorded in the 1870 census of Gilsum, NH and 1880 census of Sullivan, NH: 1870 census: Marshall J. BARRETT, age 24, a Farm Laborer, born NH Clara BARRETT, age 45, Keeping House, born NH (think the age is incorrect, should be 25) Mabel BARRETT, age 1, born NH Althea BARRETT, age 7 months, born NH 1880 census: Marshall J. BARRETT, 1 Dec 1883, Sullivan NH This would be Althea's sister Ethel Abbie BARRETT b. 15 July 1874 in Sullivan, NH to parents Marshall John BARRETT and Clarissa Adaline SPAULDING * Marshall J. BARRETT, Sullivan NH Althea's father Marshall J. BARRETT married Clara A. SPAULDING on 3 Sept 1867 in NH (don't know why she is sometimes noted as Clara and sometimes as Clarissa) In 1900 census records for Sullivan, NH include Marshall and family as follows: Marshall J. BARRETT, age 55, born Aug 1844, married 33 years, born NH, parents born NH, a Farmer Clara A. BARRETT, wife, age 54, born Feb 1845, married 33 years, 8 children/7 living, born NH, parents born NH Sarah E. BARRETT, dau, age 19, born Feb 1881, born NH, a School Teacher Bessie R.
