    3. I would be interested to know if anyone has a Banks Houghton/Haughton in his family tree? I usually see his name spelled Houghton although our name was Haughton. I have found different Banks Houghtons in the Lancashire, England area, but haven't found anyone else who has them in his family tree and I would think there would likely be a connection. Banks and his sons emigrated from Lancashire in 1869 to the southern side of Pittsburgh, PA where they were coal miners.     3. I don't think we are related at all. I don't see any names in your family tree with which I am familiar. Also our name pretty much stayed HAughton way back to 1630 in the US.     3. my father's parents were Raymond Howard (?) HoughtEn & Angnes Elizabeth Tarnowsky. Grampa's branch is from the John Gyles HoughtEn, I believe. we were the branch that changed the ON to EN in the last name. the story I heard for the name change was that 2 brothers parted ways & 1 changed the spelling of the last name. I don't know if that is fact or just a story handed down. our branch is from Pocklington, England.
