Portland, OR Other names connected: QUIRK STUART DUNNE FLYNN LYNCH CARPENTER ENERY/ENREY Perhaps LITHERLAND or PALMER as Alice Diantha LITHERLAND PALMER was buried in a plot owned in Lone Fir Cemetery in Portland, OR owned by George HOUGHTON. She is buried in a six grave plot with Rollo LITHERLAND, Francis Lowell LITHERLAND, George HOUGHTON, Charles V. HOUGHTON, Margaret C. HOUGHTON and another George HOUGHTON in that order. Alice Diantha LITHERLAND PALMER was moved to Riverview Cemetery beside her husband and son. Interesting as George HOUGHTON must have be moved also to Riverview as it is noted his permanent resting place is there also???

Stapleton B Houghton (1828-1903), son of Elijah Houghton of VA, migrated to Edgar Co about 1852 with first wife Matilda Good (1832-60) and son John William (1851-1926). In Edgar Co, Matilda had these other (adult) children were born: George Jefferson (1853-85), Jonas Presley (1855-1901) before she died. Stapleton m. Hannah Martin (1842-1919) in 1861 and had these (adult) children: Lizzie Florence [Johnson] (1865-1951), Mary Etta (1868-1920 [Scarberry], Sarah Jane (1869-1940) [Carpenter], Matilda Alice (1871-1952) [Fulton], Francis Susan (1874-1948) [Henson], Minnie Bell (1875-1941), Nellie May (1878-1960) [Goodwin] and Charley Mack (1881-1951). He was born in Hartley Wintney, Hants, England 1855, to parents Thomas & Eliza Augusta Houghton. He apparently was in a shoe business with an Elias Woods in Craftsbury, Vermont about 30 June l837 and another business in Peoria, Illinois about July l838 with R. L. Kilburn. This is not my Jonathan and I will send these papers to anyone for reimbursement of the postage. It cost $3.50 to send it to me from Illinois, so should be under $5.
