I'm glad to see this list get some inquiries. Can anyone tell me if they are researching the name Howe? I have had no luck so far finding the family in Ireland under that name, therefore, I am going to "assume" that it was changed from Hough when my grandfather arrived here in the US. My mother swore that his family was Irish to the bone, but I was never given a clue as to where in Ireland he came from. Is there a certain area in Ireland where this name originated from? I am leaving for Salt Lake City this afternoon bound for a week of research at the Family History Library. I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions before I go....if not, wish me luck!
