The farthest date I have is 1725. Christian Hochstaetter (I don't have his birthdate or wifes name) had a son Nicholas Samuel Sr. Hochstaetter and Anna Mary. Nicholas was born in 1725 in Glarus, Switzerland. Died in 12/19/1795 in Fayette Co. Pa. He had arrived in Philadelphia Pa 9/14/1749 on the ship Phoenix with brothers Christian and Ulrich. Nicholas had 4 children. Nicholas Samuel Jr., Catherine, Jacob and Anna Margaret. Nicholas Jr had a son, Samuel,(this is when the spelling went to Hostetler) who had a son Andrew Jackson, who was the father of Isaac William Hostetler. Samuel's brother Daniel was the father of the blind musicans. I have Nicholas Sr. other children on down the line. I would mail you a copy of what I have if this is same family.
