    2. I do not have that but feel certain they were still in one of the familiar counties according to the time schedule. I believe fro Memory it was Dwight Woody that I was with on this Horton group. The Tanner's moved on up into Ky and over the Ohio to near where one of them , a boy was captured by Indians and held captive for many years. He gre up and aske to leave the tribe foe awhile and went back to KY looking for his people. They were gne. But inquiry led him to look in Missouri. He found them but was not content to leave his Indian ways and friends so returned. That part of the story is found a a paperback about 50 Indian captives - or near about that title. The DNA test your brother got is not exactly what our project is aimed to do. It ia more broader based and identifies roots to the north of Europe and the the Asian or even African people. But in stages it comes forward to match or not match certainbranches of hotons. Whether your brother could offer his former sample to familytreedna i do not know. But a note to <pelhamdan@aol.com> should get the proper answer and or information to our project - which collectively the Horton Family Association is not connected or benefits in anyway except that we are able to get some discount if the address I gave you is sponsoring the test. I am interested for personal reasons. Your brother should match one other member and me, if he is connected to Elijah as I believe he is. Except for the possible connection of the John Horton with Ikerds and Tanners, some of James N's brothers are married to ikerds. All the other Elijah families are the only ones in the counties mentioned, I believe. But the thing about Elijah is that the marriages in SWVA or TN ar connected to the Taylor family, the same which goes back into Lancaster Co VA . I am hoping the Parallel will lead us back to the Horton there in mid 1600's who married the widow of a Taylot, ancestor of Taylors in SWVA. The DNA should help to that end - and your brother in from Elijah would establis, not only his branch but ours as well to that ara of VVVA. And of course the Hugh Hortons are right next door. Probably Lancaster was Westmoreland before it was formed or of Nothumberland before Westmoreland was formed. As to Arrena - it sounds like a distortion of Irena - with the a on the end of the word a carry over from the cheokees would pronounce the Word Irene in English. But there are other scenarios. In any cast I beleive this connection is still from Elija and Cat'y Horton. Later perry ( I live in southeaster OHio - but will be in New Hampshire when you come over. otherwise I would seek to meet you somewhere, I do have a cousin in Abingdon, VA which is close to the places you intend to visit, she is a teacher and very familiar with the people we are dicussing). 3. Hi Perry My brother is a Love so don't know how that would work with the Horton line. They are doing more and more with the tests though so maybe it won't be long before they can do more matches. We went through FamilyTree DNA so they have the sample still. We only had the 12 point test done and they can do the others with the same sample. Will check to see what can be done. Pat
