While searching for George Horton and Suzanna Gray Horton, I learned that Suzanna may have been American Indian. She would've been born in VA or NC around 1775. That's a guess. (One daughter, Frances Gray, by a previous husband, James Gray was born in NC 1804)She married George about 1809. Anyway, I was told that there is a "Dawes Indian Registration List" Apparently, some American Indians did not register their heritage for a number of reasons. This might help someone.
