Here's the little that I know: J. Horton & Mary L. probably lived in Troup Co. GA and later moved to Randolph Co., AL. J. Horton (John? James???) served in Co. K of the 46th Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. He died in August 1863, possibly from injuries suffered during the battle at Vicksburg, MS. They had one son, Thomas Horton (b. May 1854). Thomas married Sarah A. ???? and they had 7 childred: Julia B., Egbert(?) Willard, Sarah A., Roxie M. Beulah Pearl, Rubie L., and Tomie. Has anyone come across a J. Horton in their research that could be this J. Horton? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
