    3. Hi, my name is Lorenda Todd and I am replying to the person who was looking for J. Horton and Mary Horton in Troup Co. Ga. I don't know if we have a connection, but let me pass this along. My GG Grandfather was Robert Horton, married to Fannie Ragsdale. He also served in the Civil War in the 10th Regt.Ga. Infantry Co. I. He enlisted in Fayette Co. Ga. I found him in the Fayette Co. 1850 US Census as being 8 yrs. old. He has a brother, John, 12 and a brother James, 10. Their parents are John and Sarah. I have them again in Fayette in 1860, but there they use initials. R. (Robert) is 17, but there is a JM, who I guess could John or James. However, in 1870, I have my gg grandfather as being in Troup Co. and that is where my g grandmother, Belle Monte Horton was born. I don't know why they went to Troup Co., if they had family there or what. They did come back to Campbell Co. Ga though (Campbell is close to Fayette) because Fannie died in Campbell Co. and in 1898 there was a reunion in Atlanta and Robert gave his home as Fayette. I know that is a lot of rambling on, but because of the Troup Co. connection, I thought I would just run it by you. Good Luck! Let me know if you find any connection; I have never found anybody else researching these guys! Horton & Mary L. probably lived in Troup Co. GA and later moved to Randolph Co., AL. J. Horton (John? James???) served in Co. K of the 46th Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. He died in August 1863, possibly from injuries suffered during the battle at Vicksburg, MS. They had one son, Thomas Horton (b. May 1854). Thomas married Sarah A. ???? and they had 7 childred: Julia B., Egbert(?) Willard, Sarah A., Roxie M. Beulah Pearl, Rubie L., and Tomie. > > Has anyone come across a J. Horton in their research that could be this J. Horton? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
