Melia may be short for Amelia or Permelia. She was married to James K. Polk Smith. Melia and James had a son, Lankford Pargo Smith, born 29 Oct 1881 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. In the 1880 Census for Lonoke Co. Arkansas, ther e is an entry for a Jas. K. P Smith, of the right age and place of birth, wife Mollie (close to Melia) and a two year old son whose name is illegible. According to the census, Mollie was born about 1835 in Tennessee, as were both her parents. Living in the same household with the Smiths are Elizabeth Honeycutt, her sons, age 23 and 20 and a daughter age 19. I would appreciate receiving any information.
