I've just about given up hope on finding the parents of John R. Horton. Death certs not available until 1881. He's buried with his wife and children in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, so no church records to help. His wife is assumed to be Sarah ROE whose parents were William Roe and Millicent Miller. They were married in the Dutch church in Hopewell. Among other children, they had four sons: Richard, Charles, James and John. In old age he lived with his son, Charles.
