I think there is more than 2 William Ransom HORTONs! The ones in my line, & I think the ones Gordon refers to, I have 1st born ca 1766 & death ca 1845, s/o Wm. Everett HORTON. The second Wm. Ransom was b 1807 in SC to Sterling HORTON [brother of above Wm. Everett], & died in late 1800's in Alabama. Therefore the 1st Wm. Ransom is uncle to 2nd Wm. Ransom. It does beg the question as to relationships among the families, North & South! I don't have an answer. As usual Far too many questions!! Good Hunting one & all, Love, Lou
