Greetings from Kingaroy, Queensland, Australia. My GGG Grandmother, Rachel HORTON, married Joseph KINGSTON at the Church of St Mary Le Port in Bristol on 1 May 1791. A witness to the marriage was Hannah HORTON. Records suggest that Rachel was born about 1772. Joseph and Rachel settled in Temple Cloud where Joseph was leasing a cottage with Martha HORTON (Rachel's mother?) Searches of records around the Cameley area for HORTON's have been quite unrewarding. Does anybody know of areas in Somerset where there were HORTON's in the second half of the 18th century? Has anybody suggestions as to what I might be able to do to discover Rachel HORTON's birthplace and family? Regards Ron Johnson [email protected]
