Chances are some authors posting on the "Message Board" are not subscribed members of the HORTON list and will never see responses sent directly to the HORTON list. Therefore, if anyone wishes to respond to a "Message Board Post" and insure the author receives the response, the "Reply" must be made while viewing the "Message Board Post". Some may be thinking ... okay... how do I do that. Simple... click on the website link which will take your browser to the original message. Scroll down to the bottom of the message and click on "Post Reply".
