Our lines are very different, yours traced back to Barnabus, mine to Amos, whose father we believe to be the English immigrant, Daniel Horton, b. abt.1660, d. abt. 1718 in VA, m. Martha Timms, daughter of Amos Timms. Early in my research, I thought that Barnabus was my immigrant ancestor, due primarily to the data contained in the book, "The Hortons in America", which I, and many others, have found to be inaccurate and erroneous as it pertains, especially, to the Southern lines. Hopefully, we'll get this matter resolved one of these days. You have in your line a Charles Manoah Horton (1814-1883), son of Amos (1778-1860), the son of William (1758 NY/d.?/SC). I have just Manoah Horton, same b&d dates, same info on his father, but we differ on the GF, William Horton, who I have as b. abt.1749 in VA, (son of Amos, Sr) d. 18 July 1834 in Lancaster, SC, and m. to Elizabeth Brewer.
