    1. Re: [HORTON] Joseph Horton
    2. Phyllis, I would say that The Joseph Horton who was in SE Va in Nansemond Co, in 1750's could be related to those Hortons that you cannot connect to because his father Daniel Horton of Nansemond Co Va had other children that arent identified for sure ,and for that matter, so did Joseph. Maybe Hugh was Daniel Horton's brother or nephew. Or there is a connection between Tobias and Daniel. I feel in my bones that they all are related. Joseph Horton of Nansemond was likely Daniel Horton and Martha Timms son as he is traced from land transactions and wills to Granville co NC and to his son David Horton of Wake Co who died in 1784, and Grandson Samuel (David of wake co son). who moved to Kershaw SC from Wake Co about the time that Amos Horton Jr.( David Horton of Wake co 1st cousin.) moved to Wake co from Kershaw SC. .They all move around to take advantage of the free land Grants.
